IRDC.IR: The Mujahedin Khalq Organization is among the most popular political formations which due to its unique features during its about 40 years old lifetime, has been frequently the focus of politicians, researchers and the public and despite many similar groups, it has been able to stay in political scene of Iran (as a remarkable element) near four decades; however, despite this fact, a halo of ambiguity has surrounded the past and future of this organization that few researchers can examine and describe it clearly and carefully and study it as a part of contemporary history of the country.
Examining and studying this group, besides its historical aspect, is required from the other aspect and that is its significant role in opposing the Islamic Republic government and rebelling against the values and thoughts dominating the current society of Iran. Mujahedin Khalq Organization has observed great changes in all areas since the victory of the Islamic Revolution till now but it has kept its positions fixed and firm in one area which is opposition with Islamic government and supreme leadership. Therefore, to contrast with different threats arising from this group, recognizing it precisely should be given priority. This word does not represent enlarging the organization’s role since this group has not been considered as an important danger for the government even in the most demanded situations; however, its ability in surviving and consequently in continuing the problems which have surrounded the Islamic Republic government through its political, promotional and military activities shows the necessity of decisive deal with it more clear than ever before and it is obvious that for dealing with any phenomenon, it is necessary to recognize it before any action.
The present study has attempted to answer the two mentioned priorities and since historical recognition of the organization is an introduction to other aspects of recognition (sociological and psychological recognition, management of forces and so on), studying the background of the organization and especially considering dimensions and aspects of the organization which have not been said before have been focused by the author.
This book includes two separate parts: first part contains first to fourth chapters of the study which consider the history of the organization before and after the victory of the Islamic Revolution till the time of entering the armed phase. Second part has been dedicated to the examination of terrorist performance of the organization and description of its outcomes.
The present work is a small step in the direction of proving parts of terrorist activities of the Mujahedin Khalq Organization in the geographic scope of the Islamic Republic of Iran on the basis of inter-organizational documents scholarly and documentary and hoping that the next steps to be taken with greater scientific and research strength.
