IRDC.IR: Ayatollah Kashani’s release from imprisonment was concurrent with inflictions that befell on Palestinians. Issuing a statement on January 7th, 1948, Ayatollah Kashani invited the people to gather in the Shah Mosque in order to show their solidarity with Palestinian people.

Addressing the people in his statement, Ayatollah Kashani cautioned: "Since the division of Palestine through the United Nations’ illegal vote, the Jews have spared no time to massacre your Moslem brothers in that region.” The meeting of the people in the Shah Mosque turned into a show of force by religious forces. A couple months later, Ayatollah Kashani issued a statement and invited the people to gather in the Sultani Mosque in May 20th, 1948, and express their support to Palestinians.

Delivering an enthusiastic speech in this gathering and resorting to some verses of the holy Quran, Ayatollah Kashani invited the people to support Palestinian nation. Up to the end of his life, Ayatollah Kashani remained committed to the cause of Palestinian people. He argued that if the West has tyrannized the Jews, the westerners should compensate for it, not the Moslems.
