The analysis of the foreign media after Imam Khomeni passed away

The media reflected the news of his passing away with no analysis, because they actually didn't know what they had to present. Except some American and European press, the whole world were informed of the news with no further information or analysis. However, millions of people attended his funeral and no media could ignore that. IRDC.IR: The media reflected the news of his passing away with no analysis, because they actually didn't know what they had to present. Except some American and European press, the whole world were informed of the news with no further information or analysis. However, millions of people attended his funeral and no media could ignore that.

The high circulated paper of Italy, Corriere della Sera, published a report and claimed that such a mourning crowd could only be found in old books.

The Belgium TV channel showed a video of the massive crowd covered in black, and announced that the gathering is different from all the other ones and this number of crowd is unexampled.

In South California University, a ceremony was held and Fathi Othman, an Egyptian figure and one of the comrades of Hassan al-Banna, gave a speech with the title: "Imam Khomeini is an Islamic leader and does not belong to Shia nor Sunni".

El Pais, the most circulated newspaper of Spain, wrote a commentary on the historical characterstic of Imam: "The influence of Imam's message is notable in Algerie, qzTunasia, Egypt, Palestine, Afqanistan and other Muslim countries even with Sunni majorities. Imam Khomeni was victorious and the secret of his victory must be discovered".

All over the world, loss of a personage like Imam Khomeini was perceived. One of the noted Christian clerics of Nicaragua said: "Oh the Merciful God, thank you for those whom you sent among us, but now they are gone. Oh God now send us another people for guidance".

Financial Times, published in London, also presented an analysis: "All who expected a sudden change in Iran's policies after Ayatollah Khomeini, are about to watch their hopes fade away, after watching the crowd in his funeral".

Le Monde wrote: "Iran presented a united profile with the massive crowd in Imam's funeral and supportive telegraphs of Ayatollah Khamenei, so that it's impossible for the foreigners to evaluate the power balance among Iran's leaders".

The notable point is that the scientific profile of Imam is still being discussed in the world's research organizations. "Khomeinism" is now a common term in politics and books have been written about him in English.

After Imam passed away and Ayatollah Khamenei was chosen to be the leader, some international analysts would claim that Ayatollah Khamenei will not be able to handle the system, but today, after decades, the analysts confess the weakness of the Western governments. Condoleezza Rice, former United States Secretary of State and Advisor of George Bush, said that Iran's leader is able to foil the plans that are made by the best minds, with high budgets and in a long time, in a one-hour speech.
